Resumo: This work presents a study on microstrip antennas in bowtie shape. It was developed the traditional model of bowtie with the purpose of verify its operating behavior according of the reflection coefficient. Results showed that this geometry operates with multiple resonance frequencies and narrow band around each. To expand the range of operation, it was used the fractal geometry of Sierpinski triangle, together with other modifications to the radiator element, in the feed system and the ground plane. For the traditional model was used feed by coaxial probe, at a point where was obtained better impedance matching. For models developed from the Sierpinski triangle, was employed the microstrip line with a quarter-wave transformers based on binomial sequence and Tschebyscheff polynomial. The designs were developed in the FR4 substrate searching acceptable performance in the point of view of return loss in broad band. The results were consistent with the demands of different radiocommunications systems in the microwave range.

Desenvolveu-se o modelo tradicional da gravata borboleta com o intuito de verificar seu comportamento de opera??o em fun??o do coeficiente de reflex?o. Resultados demonstraram que esta geometria opera com m?ltiplas freq??ncias de resson?ncia e faixa estreita em torno de cada uma. Para ampliar a faixa de opera??o, recorreu-se ? geometria fractal do tri?ngulo de Sierpinski, juntamente com outras modifica??es no elemento irradiador, no sistema de alimenta??o e no plano de terra. Para o modelo tradicional utilizou-se alimenta??o por sonda coaxial, em um ponto onde se obteve melhor casamento de imped?ncia. Para os modelos desenvolvidos a partir do tri?ngulo de Sierpinski, empregou-se a linha de microfita com transformadores de quarto de onda baseados na seq??ncia binomial e nos polin?mios de Tschebyscheff. Os projetos foram desenvolvidos no substrato FR4 procurando-se desempenhos aceit?veis do ponto de vista da perda de retorno em faixa larga.
