This research had aimed to understand the use and importance of sustainnability indicators in GRI system in the electricity companies market. We checked the used indicators by organizations surveyed, as well as the importance of these dimensions of sustainability applied by each of these organizations. The study as supported, mainlu in the theritical concepts on the subject and the data collected by study of multicase. In the literature review, was showed the scenario of the energy??s sector in the country, as well as information on companies in the energy market. This parto f the paperwork contextualizes the dimensions os sustainnability, about the use and importance of sustainability indicators for managers of theses organizations. We conducted a qualitative basic study with the four relevant managers in na ??rea of Environmental Administration and projects. The strategy used for dates collection was a semi-structured interview with two managers, one from each of the companies surveyed. To a better understand we applied the questionary to more two managers of each company, completing four questionaries. For the triangulation of the informations was checked implicit information in the workplace and also was consulted in the websites of the institutions involved. The results show us that companies use the GRI sustantnability indicators and the managers observes as well important the three dimensions os sustannability ( environmental, social and economic). Was observer in this study that the importance s degree about the dimensions of sustainability, change to each studied professional s maturity and the market. In this case, observes that the company that works on electicity generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy has a big focus in these three dimensions. However, the company that only operates in the transmission and distribution of energy, have a minimum preoccupation about the envionmental dimension.
