Resumo: The Outpatient health care Service (SAE) was established to operate in the monitoring and treatment of HIV / AIDS and constitutes an important source of epidemiological data. In order to identify the epidemiological, clinical and laboratory users of SAE in the city of Guanambi - BA, it was a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study. This study was conducted in 68 subjects with confirmed serological diagnosis of HIV infection who were enrolled between 2008 and 2013 in the outpatient health care service Guanambi- Bahia. Data were collected from medical records and included the reason for conducting the HIV test, clinical status and T lymphocyte count CD4 + peripheral at registration and during treatment. The data were divided into two groups, according to year of admission of the patient - P1 (2008-2010) and P2 (2011-2013) - for comparative analysis of the variables of interest. The reason to undergo HIV testing differed between the sexes. In the male population, most of the tests was carried out due to the presence of symptoms suggestive of infection, while in the female test subject was divided equally between symptoms suggestive and the revelation of the partner's seropositivity diagnosis. The Bissexualidae and Homosexuality exposure category reached 25% males. The men were admitted to worse clinical stage than women, they showed a clinical response to treatment lower than the females and a membership to the lowest therapy. The effectiveness of CTA / SAE municipal service had improved in the second period, with a greater number of enrolled patients diagnosed with the early stages of infection and increased demand for patients from other municipalities. Conclusion: Despite constant Ministry of Health action in education and prevention in the field of HIV / AIDS patients are still being diagnosed conducted in advanced stages of the disease. There is a need to work the group of male patients by a multidisciplinary team, observing their specific, so there is better and better adherence to antiretroviral viral negativity index therapy

There is a need to work the group of male patients by a multidisciplinary team, observing their specific, so there is better and better adherence to antiretroviral viral negativity index therapyO Serviço Ambulatorial Especializado (SAE) foi instituído para atuar no acompanhamento e tratamento de portadores de HIV/AIDS e constitui-se em importante fonte de dados epidemiológicos. No. of bitstreams: 1 Vanessa Cristina Teixeira.pdf: 996675 bytes, checksum: 9a0909b3e0f9daae222559a48915d9aa (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-08-02T20:20:02Z (GMT).
