Resumo: This work verifies the insertion of Americanism in Goiânia through the cinema of the beginning of 1950. It was structured in order to offer a vision of the world conjuncture of the time, of Brazilian politics before the United States of America, the creation of Goiânia and its first cinemas . The primary source was the Jornal Folha de Goiaz and its contents related to the announced houses of cinema: Cine Campinas, Cine Goiaz, Cine Santa Maria and Cine Teatro Goiânia. Divided into three chapters, it first deals with the relationship between the United States of America and Brazil and the political aspects in the 1940s and 1950s. Following is an exposition about the American influence in the Brazilian press. It also brings, in the last chapter, the quantitative results on gender and origin of the films cataloged in the period. The results are sampled in the first half of 1950.

Foi estruturado de modo a oferecer uma visão da conjuntura mundial da época, da política brasileira diante dos Estados Unidos da América, a criação de Goiânia e seus primeiros cinemas. A fonte primária foi o Jornal Folha de Goiaz e seu conteúdo relacionado às casas de espetáculo anunciadas: Cine Campinas, Cine Goiaz, Cine Santa Maria e Cine Teatro Goiânia. Dividida em três capítulos aborda primeiramente a relação entre Estados Unidos da América e o Brasil e os aspectos políticos nos anos 40 e 50. Seguindo realiza uma exposição sobre a influência americana na imprensa brasileira. Traz ainda, no último capítulo, os resultados quantitativos sobre gênero e procedência dos filmes catalogados no período.
