Resumo: This research, documentary stamp and field, has as main objective to analyze contributions of Environmental Education for sustainable agribusiness practice taking into account its expansion in the Cerrado areas in order to point out how there are conditions of the possibility of considering a new environmental awareness in order to minimize such challenges. We attempted to discuss the concept and evolution of agribusiness in Brazil, as well as its globalization and its impacts on cities agribusiness, study object, located in the Cerrado, the Brazilian Midwest, in the Araguaia River Valley. Thus, evaluation of environmental education through interviews applied to teachers and students in public and private schools was held.Environmental education and sustainability Cerrado were also addressed in order to understand their meanings and historical evolution, and develop an understanding of the Cerrado Biome in terms of both its design and the environmental damage and sustainable practices directed to him.Finally, presented the assumption that agribusiness, from the economic perspective, despite being relevant to the Brazilian economy, its practice, however, need to take into account environmental constraints. For this, the Environmental Education has an important role is in relation to the provision of information, whether with regard mainly to the formation of an environmental conscience, that this approach may contribute to a more orderly and more conducive to the protection of the occupation biome, the valuation of biodiversity, natural resources, and also the appreciation and protection of local native populations .

Buscou-se discutir o conceito e a evolução do agronegócio no Brasil, bem como sua globalização e seus impactos nas cidades do agronegócio, objeto deste estudo, localizadas na região do Cerrado, Centro-Oeste Brasileiro, no vale do Rio Araguaia. Assim, foi realizada avaliação da Educação Ambiental por meio de entrevistas aplicadas a professores e estudantes de escolas particulares e públicas - municipais e estaduais. A Educação Ambiental e a sustentabilidade do Cerrado também foram abordados a fim de compreender seus significados e evolução histórica, além de desenvolver o entendimento do Bioma Cerrado tanto em termos de sua concepção como dos danos socioambientais e práticas sustentáveis a ele direcionado.Por fim, apresentou-se o pressuposto de que o agronegócio, sob a perspectiva econômica, apesar de ser relevante para a economia brasileira, sua prática, no entanto, precisa levar em conta as limitações ambientais. Para isso, a Educação Ambiental tem um papel importante seja no que se refere ao fornecimento de informações, seja no que tange, principalmente, à formação de uma consciência ambiental, perspectiva essa que poderá contribuir para uma ocupação mais ordenada e mais voltada à proteção do Bioma, à valorização de sua biodiversidade, seus recursos naturais, bem como, ainda, à valorização e proteção das populações nativas locais.Made available in DSpace on 2016-08-10T10:49:56Z (GMT).
