This work aims to literary analysis of The machine (1999), Adriana Falcão, from the design of some thinkers and theorists of the time, watching him now as a way to be the character, both as narrative mode of articulation when then happens to be verified as a category of analysis. The time to be considered as a literary topos is also taken as an element that leads us to think about the transience of life, the urgency of life, the need to recover what it is known, will pass. In the construction of the plot in the machine, this issue is of importance and it becomes one of the foundations for the fictional act may occur, giving meaning to the nonsense that can be attributed to the protagonist when he moves in time, regardless of whether or not credible. While also placing the emphasis of the story about the love story of Antony and Karina, the author puts into question the temporal concepts ready, linear and absolute. Adriana Falcão narrative breaks the Aristotelian logic, providing an experience of this time, as if it were infinite, giving the impression that the present, past and future beyond the borders of the horizontal and uniform discourse. The temporal perception Antonio, protagonist of the work, exceeds the scope of the visible and known, providing high degree of fictionality in putting forward a bold temporal assault, where Anthony finds himself in an absolute time, from the limiter pace of life, which gives us the impression that it is outside the world, outside of space and in time. In Adriana Falcão s narrative, the notion of temporality varies, sometimes being Antonio or Nordestina and the moment takes proportion of eternity.
