Resumo: The use of Psychoactive Substances - PAS, has always been relationship with humanity throughout history. Its use is related to entertainment, as a medicine, and religious purposes. Coercive reactions to its use point to social and religious questions about who should and should not use them. In this question comes the fight against its use in society. One group believes harm reduction therapy is critical to relapse, others rely on abstinence as appropriate healing therapy. In this aspect comes the Therapeutic Communities - TCs, as a possibility to cooperate in the healing process to the subjects who present problematic use of SPA, with the religiosity therapy. The main objective of this paper is to describe and analyze the perceptions about religiosity of recovering patients hospitalized for abusive use of SPA in the Casa do Senhor Therapeutic Community, through their social representations. Hypothetically, it is assumed that religiosity therapy influences coping with the use of PAS, and makes positive sense for research collaborators in their addiction. It is a research of analytical qualitative category, based on social representation, with preliminary quantitative approach. The main quantitative results indicate that the absolute majority attend religious rites. As for the qualitative elements: religiosity / spirituality makes sense for inmates in their recovery from drug use, however, it is perceived that there is negative Spiritual Religious Copyng, without affecting treatment. The family is fundamental as a support in coping with drug use. However, there are family relationships, whether by culture or by the crises faced, serve as triggers for the use of PAS The social representations of the inmates point out that the TC is a cosmic environment. The hypothesis was partially approved. Religiosity / spirituality makes sense in the pursuit of sobriety, there is negative copyng when pointing to bullying, undemocratic attitude with privileges for some inmates, feeling guilty about using PAS, and noise in communication. It is concluded, therefore, that spirituality therapy makes sense in addiction to drug use, helps in sobriety, and strengthens copyng in curing PAS use.
