Resumo: This work is enrolled in the research line of State, Educational Policies and Institutions in Education of the Pontifical Catholic University - PUC/Goiás. The theme of the research is the importance of education to prevent violence against women. The problem raised for research is: Why violence against women has not been prioritized by effective educational policies and continues the state investing in coping policies at the expense of prevention policies. The choice of this study was motivated by the perception that the policy of prevention of violence against women through education should be prioritized, especially from the development of social-emotional skills, which should happen in the context of integral education. The general objective proposed for this study is to identify and analyze the way education has been treated in the context of public policies aimed at the prevention of violence against women. The specific objectives are: to analyze education as a social and political phenomenon in order to perceive its contribution in the prevention of violence against women; identify and analyze the main policies aimed at preventing violence against women and how education is covered in them; to reflect on integral education as a means to promote socio-emotional development and its contribution in the prevention of violence. We chose the theoretical methodological conception of dialectical historical materialism, given its contribution to the unveiling of reality. Marxist dialectics brings the perspective of knowledge of reality from its essence, in addition to what provides a critical view of reality with the intention of transforming it. On the other hand, the methodological procedure consisted of bibliographical research, having consulted printed texts, dissertations, periodicals, books and official documents that present information, analyzes and discussions about the object of study. From the researches and reflections carried out, it was verified that school education can be of great contribution both to prevent and to reverse the situation of violence against women. In the school environment it is possible the emergence and development of initiatives that contribute to the moral formation of the individual. In the context of integral education, the development of socio-emotional skills can help children and young people improve their self-awareness, learn to control their emotions, establish and maintain positive relationships, respect for others, empathy, finally, become capable to deal constructively with the demands of daily life, such as stressors and interpersonal conflicts, without resorting to violent attitudes. With the adoption of new attitudes and behaviors it will be possible to deconstruct the macho culture that still persists in society.

O tema da pesquisa é a importância da Educação para prevenir a violência contra a mulher. O problema levantado para investigação é: Por que a violência contra a mulher não está sendo priorizada por políticas educacionais efetivas e continua o Estado investindo em políticas de enfrentamento em detrimento das políticas de prevenção. A escolha por este estudo foi motivada pela percepção de que a política de prevenção da violência contra a mulher via Educação deve ser priorizada, notadamente a partir do desenvolvimento das habilidades socioemocionais, o que deve acontecer no contexto da Educação Integral. O objetivo geral proposto para este estudo é identificar e analisar a maneira como a Educação vem sendo tratada no âmbito das políticas públicas voltadas para a prevenção da violência contra a mulher. Os objetivos específicos determinados são: analisar a Educação como fenômeno social e político visando perceber sua contribuição na prevenção da violência contra a mulher; identificar e analisar as principais políticas voltadas para a prevenção da violência contra a mulher e como a Educação é contemplada nas mesmas; refletir sobre a Educação Integral como meio de promover o desenvolvimento socioemocional e sua contribuição na prevenção da violência. Optou-se pela concepção teórica metodológica do materialismo histórico dialético, dada a sua contribuição no desvelamento da realidade. A dialética marxista traz em seu bojo a perspectiva de conhecimento da realidade a partir de sua essência, além do que propicia uma visão crítica da realidade com a intenção de transformá-la. Já o procedimento metodológico consistiu na pesquisa bibliográfica, tendo-se consultado textos impressos, dissertações, periódicos, livros e documentos oficiais que apresentam informações, análises e discussões sobre o objeto de estudo. A partir das pesquisas e reflexões realizadas, constatou-se que a Educação escolar pode ser de grande contribuição tanto para prevenir como para reverter a situação de violência contra a mulher. No ambiente escolar é possível o surgimento e desenvolvimento de iniciativas que contribuam para a formação moral do indivíduo. No âmbito da Educação Integral, o desenvolvimento de habilidades socioemocionais podem contribuir para que crianças e jovens melhorem a sua autoconsciência, aprendam a controlar suas emoções, estabeleçam e mantenham relacionamentos positivos, o respeito aos outros, a empatia, enfim, que se tornem capazes de lidar de forma construtiva com as demandas da vida cotidiana, como fatores estressantes e conflitos interpessoais, sem recorrerem a atitudes violentas.
