The master's research this aimed to discuss the humanization in health as a reflective proposal for social service. This study aimed to investigate the Humanization in health-related social service and noted the importance of social service in the National Humanization Policy -HumanizaSUS. The methodology used for this study included bibliographical and documentary research. For the analysis of the data it was adopted the technique of content analysis. Elected reference concepts were Health, Humanization and Service Culture. This research is developed in three chapters. The first briefly explains the origin of the term Humanization and philosophical humanism current and seeks to address the concept of humanization through conceptual references on humanization in health. The second deals with the Health Policy in Brazil and Humanization, presents the SUS, the National Humanization of Hospital Care Program and later the National Humanization Policy. The third chapter deals with the social service in health policy focusing on the practices of social workers aimed at realization of the National Humanization Policy. The results showed that the implementation of the National Humanization Policy is recent, going through different limits and daily institutional challenges before it the professional social work is required to contribute to the reflection on their everyday social practice inside the system National Health proposes.
