Land regularization is a topic widely discussed in the field of agrarian and urban public policies. A country with great territorial extension as Brazil faces problems of land ownership at various levels both in rural and urban areas. Many illegal lands are waiting for regularization, where this fact is not consolidated due to bureaucracy and slowness of public power in legalizing the occupied soil or not, especially when the processes of occupation are given by low-income families in occupied area, Areas of possession and so other denominations according to region. This dissertation deals with the process of land regularization, reporting the insecurity of property that families residing in these places suffer, at risk of eviction. The absence of infrastructure provided by the lack of legal property on the part of the occupants is also reported. The processes of urbanization are treated through a historical approach, showing the importance of regularization for the population that often becomes this moment nilian and/or inhibited by not having the title of property, the deed, which gives you the safety and comfort to Housing and often also family sustenance.
