This essay focus on the transformations happened at the Divine Eternal Father Pilgrimage, as well as the permanence of its tradition, during the process. For that, initially, it was done a description of the Divine Eternal Father devotion, which discus the origin of the medallion, relating it with Trindade s City formation and the arrival of the believers (missionaries) to this city. There was a concerning to demonstrate the strategies of Pilgrimage s tradition preservation, above all related with the mechanism utilized by the Catholic Church to its continuity. It was specially tried to demonstrate the transformations suffered by Pilgrimage in the 1970 s and 1980 s decades, when it got in evidence the crises provoked exactly through these modernized transformations, revealing at the same time, the permanence of the popular s traditions. For the comprehension of the crises, the Pentecostalism in Brazil was contextualized, too. Finally, the decade of the 90 s was emphasized as a period of Pilgrimage s apogee and it was tempted to approach this religious phenomenon at the discussion about the globalization. The bibliographical and documentary researches were done at the Catholic Church archives and at the local press. It was used an observation participant, too, which permitted the follow up of happenings and events that self revealed surprising to this analyses.
