This dissertation, from the perspective of Cultural History, addresses studies and reflections on the History and Memory of Youth and Adult Education in Rural Schools in Santana do Araguaia/PA. The objective of the research focuses on analyzing the trajectory of rural school education in Santana do Araguaia, with emphasis on the modality of (EJA). The methodological path was carried out through oral history, with a qualitative approach, with an exploratory objective, using as a data collection technique primary source such as documents relating to the formation of the city and interviews with subjects who are directly linked to the process of formation of the rural school based on the EJA modality. The research approaches the educational practices experienced in one of the rural schools, bringing the way of work in the classroom of a Teacher of Youth and Adult Education, as well as the behavior of students in relation to multigrade classes. The work provides a brief history of the city of Santana do Araguaia and the three main schools in the rural area that work with youth and adult education. The research took place through inquiries such as testimonies, interviews, oral sources and life stories recorded in their own or common collections, such as course conclusion works and other sources favorable to the process. The methodology used was based on oral history and qualitative research. The focus is on oral statements with all their particularities. We privilege the experiences of people who were part of the formation of the municipality of Santana do Araguaia-PA, highlighting their ways of seeing life in a historical context that has limitations as to the written record. We hope to reaffirm the need to expand theoretical studies in the area of youth and adult education through the perspective of recording and historical memory
