Representações sociais, situações potencialmente comunicativas e conflito: o caso da reserva indígena Raposa Serra do Sol (2005-2009)

This thesis has the main objective the identification and analysis of social representations of the indigenous in the media, especially in the print media, based on a conflict situation. In order to corroborate this presented thesis, communicative acts (considered as potentially communicative situations) generated by the media and validated like communication agreements which imposes indigenous representation, differentiation that translates into a favorable position in the internal group non indigenous compared to the exogenous group (indigenous). Two studies were realized attending specific objectives: The first study analysis sought to identify the social actors involved in the conflict by demarcation and evacuation area in Indian Reservation Raposa Serra do Sol as well as categories of analysis that provide informational support for the news construction reported by the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo. The second analysis sought to identify, analyze and demonstrate a particular methodological perspective applied to the field of studies about prejudice and especially the study of social representations involved in it, the three levels of analysis that operate this perspective. At the first level ocurred in order to identificate common field (consensual field) of the social representations, in the second level, the identification the position of the individuals (or groups) between the common fields, and in the third, the understanding of the positions identified through their anchorage. The second study aims to identify and analyze how the subjects did not see the native indigenous in the context of intergroup relations, and particularly how this relationship occurs in the context of the demarcation process and removal of Raposa Serra do Sol It is also the objective of this study to identify the centrality of social representations, which most likely indicate the core of these representations. The results show that, unlike other studies in the area, the prejudice against Indians is expressed in an institutionalized way, and the invisibility and silence characterizes us in the print media. Intergroup relations, the Indian is considered to belong to a different culture, close to nature, hunting, fishing and makes handicrafts, indicating that this place is in the native forest. Ultimately, the results of studies undertaken indicate that he is considered to some extent, not a citizen or people.
