Resumo: The aim was to describe the physico-chemical characteristics of the soil and the bromatological composition, as an alternative for the recovery of Cerrado soils and animal feed supply. The experiment was conducted at the Unit Experimental Production ZOOIII the Instituto Federal Goiano - Campus Urutaí in the city of Urutaí/GO. They were established with four treatments (two pulses - Crotalária, Crotalaria spectabilis and Feijão-Guandú, Cajanus cajan, a grass - Milheto, Pennisetum glaucum and control - Brachiaria (Brachiaria decumbens) were carried out analysis of the physical and chemical properties of soil above cultivation and with a year of cultivation. For bromatological composition analysis, was carried samples with 120 days of cultivation, considerate out first cut and with 160 days the second cut, considerate out second cut. The Crotalária, Feijão-Guandú e Milheto were not able to change the physico-chemical characteristics Cerrado soils within the study period. After the analysis, it was observed higher rates of Crotalária compared to other species as the characteristics of the chemical composition.

O experimento foi conduzido na Unidade Experimental de Produção ZOOIII do Instituto Federal Goiano - Campus Urutaí, no município de Urutaí/GO. Foram estabelecidos com quatro tratamentos (duas leguminosas – Crotalária, Crotalaria spectabilis e Feijão-Guandú, Cajanus cajan; uma gramínea – Milheto, Pennisetum glaucum e o controle – Brachiaria, (Brachiaria decumbens). Foram realizadas análises das propriedades físicas e químicas do solo anteriormente ao cultivo e após um ano de cultivo. Para a análise da composição bromatológica, foram colhidas amostras com 120 dias de cultivo, considerado primeiro corte e com 160 dias, considerado segundo corte. A Crotalária, Feijão- Guandú e o Milheto não foram capazes de alterar as características físicas e químicas de solos degradados dentro do período estudado.
