The direct and indirect influence of Pauline thought has many repercussions on the construction of the contingent of social representations of the contemporary Western world, as well as on the related social sentiments and axiological dimension. It is felt in the most diverse institutions, which makes the category "justification" highly relevant. The work is thus justified by the historicity of the theme as well as by the current relevance of recent debates and the economic, political and social repercussions found. The work sought to address the question of the meaning of reinterpretations of justification, considering the history of interpretation, exegesis and the New Perspective. Thus, using qualitative research in the bibliographic modality, we sought to present a historical excursus that covered the period from classical antiquity, including the disputes of the sixteenth century. We also undertook an exegetical analysis of Gal 3:6-14, a section of New Testament sacred literature that is paradigmatic for the study of justification. The base text for the exegesis was the 28th edition of the Novum Testamentum Graece. The methodology adopted for the exegesis was historical-critical, in which, in addition to a translation using the formal equivalence method, textual, literary, editorial, form and content analyses, and theology were presented, with the purpose of investigating aspects of the author's intentionality. With regard to the theme related to the content, the question of the curse and redemption, filiation in Abraham, and justification were evaluated. An analysis of how the New Perspective understands justification was presented, going through the theoretical references (Sanders, Wright and Dunn). Finally, it is proposed to present reinterpretations of justification that, starting with a general overview, discuss justification and its relationship with the community and social praxis. In terms of results, it was observed that the reading is far from being polarized or monolithic. There are diverse perspectives on the exegetical approach to Paul and his environment, but in the history of the development of representation, the impact of the thought of Luther, Sanders and the multiple contemporary findings of the various Judaisms of the Second Temple, as well as the documents that emphasize care for the poor, gain prominence.
