Resumo: Precision agriculture (PA) is a dual system, both technological and of agricultural management, which is at the confluence of two technological trajectories: 1) machines and implements; and 2) information and communication technologies (ICTs). In agriculture, there are some canonical forms of adoption measurement, such as: sales amount of a given product or service, number of users, properties, or area under adoption of a given technology. However, the large number of products and services considered as PA, the variety of concepts found on it, besides the intrinsic limits of these adoption measures —suiting better for single technologies—, among other factors, make it difficult to consolidate a methodology that is more conclusive to evaluate the adoption of systems such as PA. This work aims to establish the basis for an adequate measurement of PA adoption level, parting from the evaluation of this level from available information, which will subsidize the analysis of the limits and virtues of the adoption measures presented, in order to propose improvements that meet the gaps found. For that, literature collection, bibliometric analysis, and interviews with PA agents were carried out

Em agricultura, existem algumas formas canônicas de medição de adoção, como: número de vendas de produto/serviço, número de usuários ou propriedades adotantes e área sob adoção da tecnologia. Entretanto, o grande número de produtos e serviços sob a denominação de AP, a variedade de conceitos encontrados sobre ela, afora limites intrínsecos a essas medidas de adoção, que servem mais a tecnologias individuais, entre outros fatores, dificultam a consolidação de uma metodologia mais conclusiva para avaliar a adoção de sistemas como a AP. Este trabalho busca estabelecer as bases de uma medição adequada do nível de adoção de AP, valendo-se da avaliação desse nível a partir das informações disponíveis, que subsidia a análise dos limites e virtudes das medidas de adoção apresentadas, a fim de lhes propor aperfeiçoamentos que atendam às lacunas encontradas.
