Introduction: Speech is one of the ways human beings use to communicate. It is a complex task and needs to be carried out in a coordinated, organized and planned manner. Some factors may impair speech, such as maxillomandibular disproportions, found in individuals with dentofacial deformities (FDD). The speech changes found in individuals with FDD are related to the production of sounds that move the lips and the tongue, such as fricative sounds. For a comprehensive evaluation of these changes or modifications, this research used perceptual-auditory analysis and acoustic analysis evaluations in an attempt to identify and thus understand the speech patterns of individuals with FDD. Objective: to verify the perceptive-auditory and acoustic characteristics of the speech of individuals with Dentofacial Deformities, seeking to analyze possible associations between the structural variations of the vocal tract and speech characteristics. Methods: Participants in this study were 28 subjects aged 16-50 years, with 18 participants in the research group (GP), 9 of which were male and 9 were female, and 10 were subjects of the control group (CG), 5 males and 5 females. All participants had their voices recorded through the Praat program. Perceptual-auditory judgments of the speeches were used through Vocal Profile Analysis Scheme-VPAS-PB, and for "acoustic analysis", the following parameters were used: duration, intensity, F1 and F2. Correlate the findings of the VPAS-PB with the acoustic analysis. Results: Individuals with FDD showed the predominance of stretched and diminished extensor lips, mandible with reduced extension, advanced tongue tip, lower tongue body, and less elevated larynx. The acoustic analysis showed an increase in duration and intensity in all fricatives, a change in the vertical relationship between the tongue and the mandible (F1) and the anteroposterior relationship of the tongue (F2) in relation to individuals without FDD. The DDF that presented the highest number of specific speech characteristics associated with the respective positions of their bone bases were Class II and Class III skeletal deformities. Conclusion: There are specific characteristics in the speech of individuals with FDD, which are associated with the structural variation of the vocal tract, and the evaluation of speech through perceptive-auditory analysis and acoustic analysis, can help in understanding the speech peculiarities of these individuals with DDF
