This research is necessary to add to all the research that aims to understand our current political moment in which democracy is questioned by people who used it to come to power or participate in a government. With a clear methodology and important bibliographic, we seek to insert our study into a whole that, in addition to the historical record, will be fundamental to understand the phenomenon of social media and to measure our stage of democracy. Firstly, even though the polarization on the internet was already noticed in 2014, the “rivalry” between PSDB and PT members cannot be compared with what was done by the “bolsonaristas” in 2018. Not only for opening a dungeon in what already seemed to be rock bottom in argumentative terms and lower the level of debate to the lowest level; but also because its appropriation of the networks was reprehensible - although it has not yet been legally condemned until the end of this work. Certainly, at some point, in months or years, this group will leave the command of the Planalto Palace. Until then, this kind of research is essential to help to underdand this scenario and to open our eyes to authoritarian pitfalls. Regardless of the type of government that will succeed it, later, these records will be fundamental for the perfect understanding of what happened and for the consolidation of bibliographies and concepts about this period. Our regime of representative democracy is constantly questioned because of the demonization of politics. In the current context of personalizing politics, the other is seen as an enemy, not an adversary. We will see that Lava Jato propelled this process in Brazil, leading us to a crisis in the institutions and to episodes in which the Constitution was torn. In this work, we analyzed the profiles of Jair Bolsonaro and Fernando Haddad on Facebook and selected posts made during the election propaganda period during the first round (August 16 to October 5, 2018) and also during the second round (12 to 27 of October, 2018). It is also important to highlight the essential value of remembering and verifying elements that made us get here, such as the construction of anti-PT sentiment. The posts we selected had different criteria, such as reach, repercussion, spectacularization and misinformation. Although our work focused on the electoral period, the world did not stop spinning as we wrote this dissertation and many of our impressions about the authoritarian bias of Bolsonaro's speech were confirmed during the current president's government
