Resumo: The research Reading the world: Journalism from the perspective of educational action – a study on Revista E by Sesc São Paulo investigates the approximations between Journalism and Education based on a case study on Revista E, created and maintained by Sesc São Paulo. It analyzes the characteristics of a journalistic publication carried out with educational intent to identify the foundations and outline paradigms of Journalism committed to Education, from the references of cultural mediation and from the perspective of non-formal education. The research starts from the question-problem: What are the characteristics of a journalistic publication that allow to understand it beyond the commitment to inform, also approaching an educational action? As for the methodology, it is a qualitative research, based on a literature review and a case study. The research analyzes the twelve monthly editions of 2019 of the publication, based on the elementary categories built based on the theoretical framework, which relate cultural mediation, communication and educational action as an ethical dimension of the project. The categories used are: commitment to expanding the repertoire; valorization of the plurality of voices; and encouragement of aesthetic appreciation. The result of this survey allowed us to understand how the magazine articulates these methodologies in its content production, to fulfill the premises of a journalistic product aligned with the commitment to Education

Analisa as características de uma publicação jornalística realizada com intencionalidade educativa para identificar os fundamentos e traçar paradigmas do Jornalismo comprometido com a Educação, a partir de referenciais da mediação cultural e sob a ótica da educação não formal. A pesquisa parte da pergunta-problema: Quais as características de uma publicação jornalística que permitem compreendê-la para além do compromisso de informar, aproximando-se também de uma ação educativa? Quanto à metodologia, trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, embasada em revisão de literatura e em estudo de caso. A pesquisa analisa as doze edições mensais de 2019 da publicação, a partir das categorias elementares construídas com base no referencial teórico, que relacionam a mediação cultural, a comunicação e a ação educativa como dimensão ética do projeto. As categorias utilizadas são: compromisso com ampliação de repertório; valorização da pluralidade de vozes; e estímulo à apreciação estética.
