The present study aims to present the multiple Indigenous presences in the metropolitan region of São Paulo and to understand how these populations face historical erasure, invisibility, and the lack of ethnic recognition, as well as other expressions of the social question produced by capitalism. It discusses their ethnic diversities, ways of life, and organization in the capitalist production of urban space, and investigates how manifestations of the social question operate on Indigenous populations and whether they are guaranteed access to public policies aimed at Indigenous peoples. It seeks to contribute to a still incipient debate in the field of Social Work: the Indigenous question, more specifically regarding Indigenous peoples living in cities. To this end, the chosen methodology was bibliographic and documentary research, primarily using as theoretical references the works of Indigenous researchers and original knowledge, in constant dialogue with Latin American Marxist thought. It also draws on audiovisual productions, journalistic materials, and reports featuring testimonies from Indigenous individuals of various ethnicities living in the municipalities of Greater São Paulo.The research demonstrates that the project of historical erasure aimed at the usurpation of original territories and the exploitation of their natural resources, as well as the enslavement of populations considered inferior by the dominant power. Finally, the research presents the strategies of resistance and re-existence of the Indigenous movement in the face of the oppressions encountered and points to other possible worlds for overcoming predatory capitalism
