Resumo: Introduction: the identification of speakers for forensic means started at the beginning of the eighteenth century. Nevertheless, the standardization of procedures and the use of a single voice recognition protocol still seem to be far from achieving. Thus, it is necessary to ensure the real contribution from perceptual analysis of voice quality to the identification of speakers. Objective: to check the applicability of the script Vocal Profile Analysis Scheme (VPAS-PB) in the identification of speakers, from the results of a perceptive experiment based on the phonetic description of voice quality and dynamic model. Methodology: the corpus is composed by semi spontaneous speech samples taken from the reading of a sentence and the telling of two personal narratives with important facts from the lives of ten male subjects. The samples were recorded simultaneously by a voice recorder and a cellphone. Two groups of judges of the VPAS-PB script have participated in the research. The first group, composed by three experienced judges in the use of the instrument, heard the speech samples and applied the script. The second group of judges, composed by eighteen academics in the Phonoaudiology area, participated in a perceptive VPAS-PB training course, and the individuals in the group were assigned the task of listening to five speech samples and matching each of them to the description of it. They were given fifteen audio files in the extension .way, with 5 speech samples each (lineups) and a sheet of paper containing fifteen voice quality descriptions, which they had to hear, analyze and match. The descriptions were assembled from the average patterns stated by the first group of judges. Results: the statistical analysis has shown a high reliability of experienced judges in the application of the VPAS-PB script. The results of the perceptive task performed after training have indicated that, judges in training rely primarily on the strategy of using aspects of the vocal dynamic for vocal quality identification. Conclusions: the VPAS-PB script can be a useful complementary tool for speakers identification, once it presents a high degree of reliability by experienced judges. The perceptive training carried out has shown the applicability of teaching how to manage the instrument, proving it to be vitally important in the training of experts in speakers identification. The experience with the training and the results found provide us with subsides to improve the strategies in perceptive training in the future

The experience with the training and the results found provide us with subsides to improve the strategies in perceptive training in the futureIntrodução: a identificação de falantes para fins forenses teve início no século XVII. Apesar disso, ainda parece distante a padronização de procedimentos e uso de um protocolo único para o reconhecimento vocal. É necessário verificar a contribuição que a análise perceptiva da qualidade de voz pode trazer para a identificação de falantes. Objetivo: verificar a aplicabilidade de roteiro Vocal Profile Analysis Scheme (VPAS-PB) na identificação de falantes, a partir da reflexão acerca dos resultados de um experimento perceptivo baseado no Modelo Fonético de Descrição da Qualidade Vocal e de dinâmica vocal. Métodos: o corpus é constituído por amostras de fala semiespontânea com a leitura de uma frase e a narrativa de duas histórias que, de alguma maneira, marcaram a vida de 10 sujeitos do sexo masculino. As amostras foram gravadas simultaneamente através do gravador e do telefone celular. Participaram da pesquisa 2 grupos de juízes do roteiro VPAS-PB. O primeiro grupo, composto por 3 juízes experientes na aplicação do instrumento, ouviu as amostras de fala dos sujeitos e aplicaram o roteiro. O segundo grupo de juízes, composto por 18 acadêmicos de Fonoaudiologia, participaram de curso de treinamento perceptivo com o VPAS-PB, que teve a duração de 16 horas. Após a realização do curso, o segundo grupo recebeu como tarefa um exercício contendo 15 arquivos de áudio na extensão .wav com 5 amostras de fala em cada um (lineups), além de folha de respostas contendo 15 descrições de qualidade vocal. O objetivo da tarefa foi o de, individualmente, ouvirem cada lineup e identificarem dentre as amostras de fala do arquivo qual era a correspondente à descrição que constava na folha de respostas. As descrições foram feitas a partir da média das descrições do primeiro grupo de juízes. Resultados: a análise estatística demonstrou a alta confiabilidade de juízes experientes na aplicação do roteiro VPAS-PB. Os resultados da tarefa perceptiva realizada após o treinamento demonstraram que os juízes em formação utilizam como estratégia para identificação da qualidade vocal, primeiramente, os aspectos de dinâmica vocal. Conclusões: o roteiro VPAS-PB pode ser utilizado como instrumento complementar na identificação de falantes, por apresentar alto grau de confiabilidade de juízes experientes. O treinamento perceptivo realizado demonstrou a viabilidade de ensino do instrumento, ressaltando a importância do mesmo na capacitação de peritos em identificação de falantes. A experiência com o treinamento e os resultados encontrados nos fornecem subsídios para aprimorar as estratégias para treinamentos perceptivos futurosCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/45147/Renata%20Christina%20Vieira.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Linguística Aplicada e Estudos da LinguagemPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Filosofia, Comunicação, Letras e ArtesFonéticaPercepção da falaVozPhoneticsSpeech perceptionVoiceCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES::LINGUISTICA::LINGUISTICA APLICADAIdentificação de falante: um estudo perceptivo da qualidade de vozinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTRenata Christina Vieira.pdf.txtRenata Christina Vieira.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain294679https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/20962/4/Renata%20Christina%20Vieira.pdf.txtc1cc27e3d836bdd27a77aea009676779MD54LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
