The present research, based on studies of Paulo Freire s work tries to understand the theoretical and practical repercussions on the democratic school management, through surveys produced and established by theses and essays. Through the contribution of Paulo Freire s work there has been a revaluation in the education management, considering the following categories participation and dialogicity, numa perspectiva crítica e under a critical perspective from academic production from 1992 to 2007. Our interest in searching the state of knowledge about Democratic Management at School with references from Freire arises from this deep work to show ways that have been taken and aspects that are approached to its detriment. We do believe that this balance will enable the contributions to the organization and analysis of the definition of the democratic management in Paulo Freire, besides indicating possible contributions to the political education changes from schools. The Data Source from CAPES was used as source of information. By means of a discerning selection from academic works, it was identified 15 essays and 4 theses that approach the Democratic Management through different categories: participation and school democratization, school boards, school management, school issues organization, school autonomy and education for adolescents and adults. The documents of School Democratic Management show crises and problems, as the heavy bureaucratic school routine and the relations of power inside it. On the other hand, especially on the analyses of experiences, they sustain a growing process of democratization of education and its management, as well as the recognition of the school centralization and, at school, from the centralization of learning the offer of a public education with quality
