Resumo: This thesis explores the conversion journey of Edith Stein, a German philosopher of Jewish origin, who moved from Judaism to Christianity, culminating in monastic life as a Carmelite and martyrdom in Auschwitz. The research adopts an interdisciplinary approach, combining bibliographical review, comparative analysis, and a hermeneutic analysis of religious experience, in order to understand conversion as a multifaceted phenomenon involving intellectual, spiritual, social, and historical dimensions. The investigation examines the influence of factors such as Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology, the spirituality of Saint Teresa of Ávila, the sociocultural context of pre-Holocaust Germany, and the dynamics of communal interaction among Christians. Edith Stein is analyzed as a paradigm of the search for truth, whose synthesis of faith and reason transcends religious and intellectual boundaries. Her conversion, marked by deep philosophical and spiritual reflection, is presented not merely as an individual event, but as a process situated at the intersection of multiple social, historical, and cultural forces. The study highlights Stein’s relevance in the field of the humanities, demonstrating how her life and work challenge disciplinary boundaries and offer new perspectives on the interaction between religion, philosophy, and history
