O acesso e permanência de indivíduos surdos no ensino superior

Resumo: | The current study had the goal to investigate the access of the universities and colleges of the deaf people and it permanence into the institutions, trying to identify and analyze how IES makes the selection of deaf people into the university, the procedure utilized which look to apply the possibilities of the permanence of these students in the curses hat they got in, the difficulties that they show from the responsible people stand point and the writing test of the candidates. Therefore, we focused the investigation only at one university, in the intention of checking the procedure of student s selection, the adaptation made to cover their public needs and the difficulties found. The data collected was made by protocols filled in by the responsible department of collage test, interview with pedagogies, coordinators, professors and supervisors, and registered of deaf candidates who participated in the selected process of 2012 summer. We used Cury (2002 to 2008) and Sacristan (2001) contribution to guide the organization and the analysis of the collected data, basing on the discussion about the education which defines and characterizes the graduation of deficient student, and also the deaf ones. Three hypotheses were showed the access of deaf students to the higher education is facilitated with no guarantees to IES that the adaptation realized on the selection process considered the proficiency on the writing language the deaf student`s difficulties due to missing knowledge of the written language presented the precariousness of the appropriation on the Portuguese language, what compromise as well as the access to the knowledge of registered printed pieces, and also to the quality of it`s on written expressions. Among the results, the data analysis reviewed that the approval of the three deaf candidates, with great written, and the rejection of the other two, with disconnected and unreadable, evidence that the collage test requires proficiency of the written language, not taking in consideration only the aspect semantic of the writings, contesting the first hypotheses. However, during deaf students path in the University, the majority interviewed consider unsatisfactory the written production of these students, upon the beyond the fact of these students performance, among the written language, presents, the fact, the precariousness of the appropriations of the proposed contents, what at the end compromises these students on accessing the written and registered impressed pieces and at the quality of their writing |

However, during deaf students path in the University, the majority interviewed consider unsatisfactory the written production of these students, upon the beyond the fact of these students performance, among the written language, presents, the fact, the precariousness of the appropriations of the proposed contents, what at the end compromises these students on accessing the written and registered impressed pieces and at the quality of their writingO presente estudo teve por objetivo investigar o acesso às instituições de ensino superior por indivíduos surdos e a permanência destes alunos nos cursos de graduação pretendidos, buscando identificar e analisar, as formas como a Instituições de Ensino Superior realizam a seleção de indivíduos surdos ao Ensino Superior, os procedimentos utilizados que procuram ampliar as possibilidades de permanências desses alunos nos cursos que ingressaram, as dificuldades que esses alunos apresentam sob a ótica dos responsáveis pelos cursos e por seus professores, e a produção escrita desses candidatos. Para tanto, restringimos a investigação a uma única Universidade, no intuito de conferir os procedimentos de seleção de alunos, as adequações realizadas para atender a este público e as dificuldades encontradas. A coleta dos dados foi realizada através de preenchimento de protocolo pelo setor responsável pelo vestibular, entrevista com a supervisora deste setor, entrevistas com a coordenadora e as professoras do curso de Pedagogia e registros dos candidatos surdos que participaram do processo seletivo de verão 2012. Para nortear a organização e a análise dos dados coletados, utilizamos as contribuições de Cury (2002 e 2008) e Sacristán (2001), baseando as discussões sobre o direito à educação, juntamente com a legislação vigente, da que caracteriza e define o ensino superior, a que se volta aos direitos dos alunos deficientes, entre eles os surdos, em relação à educação. Foram apresentadas três hipóteses: o acesso ao Ensino Superior para alunos surdos é facilitado, sem que as IES tivessem garantias de que as adaptações realizadas em relação aos processos seletivos considerassem a proficiência na língua escrita; as dificuldades dos alunos surdos se deviam basicamente à falta de domínio da língua escrita por parte desse alunado; o desempenho desses alunos por meio da língua escrita mostrava a precariedade de sua apropriação da língua portuguesa, o que prejudicaria tanto o acesso ao conhecimento registrado em obras impressas, quanto a qualidade de suas próprias expressões escritas. Dentre os resultados, a análise dos dados nos revelou que a aprovação no exame vestibular das três primeiras candidatas surdas, com ótima escrita, e a reprovação das outras duas, com escrita desconexa e ininteligível, demonstra que o vestibular da Universidade exige a proficiência na língua escrita, não levando em consideração apenas o aspecto semântico das redações, contestando a primeira hipótese.
