Resumo: The present research comprises a psychoanalytic investigation that aims to gather both practical and theoretical aspects concerning borderline desire and critically ill patients who do not fit within the classical neurotic framework. In the first chapter, the objective is to construct a metapsychological discussion by comparing two concepts derived from Christopher Bollas's (1987) work: the transformational object and the disruptive object. These concepts underpin the understanding and clinical listening of borderline patients. The second chapter offers several examples that illustrate borderline desire and its mechanisms: a few clinical vignettes are presented, alongside literary works by Kleist (1810/2014) and Edgar Allan Poe (1838/2017), as well as clinical cases published by other psychoanalysts. The third and final chapter is dedicated to exploring the analytic relationship and the limits of the Elasticity of the Psychoanalytic Technique (FERENCZI, 1928/1992). Furthermore, it explores the potential advantages of using the analyst‟s true self as a good object for the patient

Tais conceitos prestam-se de como fundamentais na compreensão e escuta de pacientes borderlines. O segundo capítulo oferecerá diversos exemplos capazes de ilustrar o desejo borderline e seus mecanismos: utiliza-se vinhetas clínicas, obras literárias como as de Kleist (1810/2014), Allan Poe (1838/2017) e casos clínicos publicados por outros analistas. O terceiro e último capítulo propõe uma discussão acerca da relação analítica e da elasticidade da técnica (FERENCZI, 1928/1992) necessária para empreender tratamentos desta ordem.
