O envelhecer e os diferentes sentidos do cuidar na visão de estudantes de curso técnico em enfermagem

Resumo: Aging has been one of the most discussed topics recently, throughout society, due to the fact that people are living longer, which implies the emergence of issues related to human longevity. During the aging process several natural losses, inherent to human life cycle, occur, culminating with old age. This reality demands a proper understanding of this phase of life, by health professionals and education. The field of nursing, which has its essential purpose in caring, needs a formation that develops this competency with quality. Facing this challenge, we elect as an aim of this study: to analyze the view of students of technical nursing course, when it comes to caring in nursing practice and the meanings of aging and old age. The analyzes developed were guided in specific objectives of the dissertation, including students socioeconomic profile characterization and the meanings that they attach to aging and old age, as well as an explicitation of the perceptions about care in nursing practice. The methodology adopted is characterized by a qualitative and an exploratory approach, located at the interface of the areas of gerontology, health and education, including as a procedure the content analysis of Bardin. The data collection had as an instrument an interview with the use of a semi-structured guide, which allowed the obtainment of testimonies related to conceptions and experiences of the students. The analysis results allowed stress that the health conceptions were based on repetition of concepts by teachers on a simple transmission of knowledge, to the detriment of their production or construction. It was observed that the conceptions of Nursing reveal a learning of mechanical character, favoring the techniques and procedures in a naturalistic view, fragmented and inhuman. Regarding to care in old age, the students highlighted issues of hygiene, safety and comfort, always expressing a concern that this care is performed with love, care and respect. The reflections made, reveal that this study can contribute to the process of recasting the Pedagogical Course Project, aiming the instruction of health of the elderly, in nursing professionalizing courses, once these conceptions exert strong influence on the learning process of these students

Durante o processo de envelhecimento ocorrem diversas perdas naturais do ciclo de vida que culminam na velhice. Esta realidade demanda dos profissionais da saúde e da educação uma compreensão adequada dessa fase da vida. A área da Enfermagem que tem no cuidar a sua finalidade essencial necessita de formação que desenvolva com qualidade essa competência. Frente a esse desafio elegemos como objetivo deste estudo: analisar a visão do estudante do curso técnico em Enfermagem sobre o cuidar no exercício da enfermagem e o significado do envelhecer e da velhice. As análises desenvolvidas se nortearam nos objetivos específicos da dissertação incluindo a caracterização do perfil socioeconômico dos estudantes e dos significados que atribuem ao envelhecer e à velhice, além da explicitação das percepções sobre o cuidar no exercício da Enfermagem. A metodologia utilizada se caracteriza pela abordagem qualitativa de caráter exploratório situada na interface das áreas da gerontologia, saúde e educação incluindo como procedimento, a análise de conteúdo de Bardin. A coleta dos dados teve como instrumento a entrevista com uso de roteiro semiestruturado o que possibilitou a obtenção de depoimentos relativos a concepções e vivências dos estudantes. Os resultados das análises permitiram ressaltar que as concepções de saúde manifestas se basearam na repetição de conceitos trabalhados pelos professores numa simples transmissão de conhecimentos, em detrimento da sua produção ou construção. Observou-se que as concepções de Enfermagem explicitadas revelam uma aprendizagem de caráter mecânico privilegiando as técnicas e procedimentos numa visão naturalista, fragmentada e desumana Quanto aos cuidados na velhice, os estudantes destacam questões de higiene, segurança e conforto sempre manifestando a preocupação de que estes cuidados sejam realizados com carinho, amor e respeito.
