Resumo: Professionals who want to improve their technical performance in the context of public policies should be attentive to their gender conceptions, since these influence their practices and their relationship with the users of the service. Gender refers to social constructions that normalize people's subjectivity and sexuality, as well as to existing power relations. There is a greater frequency of studies that investigate the professional performance from a gender perspective within the Unified Health System (SUS), and the researches with this theme in the Unified Social Assistance System (SUS) are scarce, even in smaller localities. This study aimed to understand the gender conceptions of higher education professionals working at the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) and to explore how these affect their practices. Participated in 14 social service and psychology professionals working in small municipalities I (up to 20 thousand inhabitants), in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Semi-structured interviews were carried out, fully transcribed and submitted to thematic analysis. The results indicated that the professionals present speeches that indicate a polarization between feminine and masculine, although they promote reflections on gender stereotypes and roles. One observes practices reinforcing that the attributions of women are the family and the domestic space, perpetuating social inequalities. It was also difficult for the participants to identify and intervene in situations of intrafamily violence, which occur frequently in municipalities in the interior of RS. In addition to conducting research from a gender perspective in relation to socio-welfare practices, it is imperative to promote awareness and training that addresses gender and violence in the context of public policies.

No. of bitstreams: 1 GREICE_GRAFF_DIS.pdf: 1806763 bytes, checksum: ac7f55d14b310a376a27e3f6c7f5499d (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Sarajane Pan (sarajane.pan@pucrs.br) on 2019-10-07T13:58:39Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 GREICE_GRAFF_DIS.pdf: 1806763 bytes, checksum: ac7f55d14b310a376a27e3f6c7f5499d (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-10-07T14:06:58Z (GMT).
