Resumo: The present dissertation had as an objective to investigate how the professor?s selection occurs, within the Human Resource (HR), in an institution of Higher Education in Porto Alegre (RS). To this qualitative study, questionnaires were applied to 120 professors, they were sent by e-mail from the own institution, there were 12 responses received, two present interviews, one with a professional of HR and the other one with the principal of the institution, within different script. The qualitative dada were analyzed through the Discursive Textual Analysis methodology. Considering the got feedback in this research, the established initial objective as well, it was possible to notice that the RH field takes part in the teacher?s selection process and, not only the teacher but also the direction and the RH, know the stages and are involved in this process, with some disorders about the knowledge and participation of all the stages defined by the RH. The RH field, due to the fact that is compound of professional with specifics knowledge, has shown that it helps the other fields and the managers to identify the best candidates, to complete the interviews, and to have a more general view of the candidate, throughout some specifics tools it can get more personal information which contribute to an effective assertively on hiring teachers, as well. It was also possible to perceive by the reports that the RH guarantee the adaptation and admission of the teachers, with integration activities of this profession in the culture and in the values of the companies, those issues are identified by the teachers as a benefit of the selection with the RH contribution. However, there are still lacks regarding the range, because nor all the teachers that ingress in the institution join this activity, mainly the ones that enter in the middle of the year, due to the fact that the integration is not offered on the same way as it is in the beginning of the year.

Para este estudo qualitativo, foram aplicados question?rios para 120 docentes, enviados por e-mail pela pr?pria institui??o, com retorno de 12 respostas, e duas entrevistas presenciais, uma com o profissional da ?rea de RH e outra com a diretora da institui??o, com roteiros diferentes. Os dados qualitativos foram analisados pela metodologia de An?lise Textual Discursiva. Considerando os resultados obtidos nesta pesquisa, bem como o objetivo estabelecido, foi poss?vel perceber que a ?rea de RH participa do processo de sele??o dos docentes e, tanto os docentes quanto a dire??o e o RH, conhecem as etapas e s?o envolvidos nesse processo, com algumas distor??es sobre o conhecimento e a participa??o em todas as etapas definidas pelo RH. A ?rea de RH, por ser composta de profissionais com conhecimentos espec?ficos, demonstrou que auxilia as demais ?reas e os gestores a identificar melhor os candidatos, realizando entrevistas, obtendo uma vis?o mais geral do candidato, bem como, com ferramentas espec?ficas, obter mais dados pessoais que contribuem para uma maior assertividade na contrata??o. Foi poss?vel perceber, pelas an?lises dos relatos, que o RH garante a adapta??o e ingresso dos docentes, com atividades de integra??o desses profissionais na cultura e nos valores da empresa. Essas quest?es foram identificadas pelos professores como benef?cios da sele??o com a contribui??o do RH.
