This research aims to identify the critical elements that influence the adoption of the integrated "Leagile" perspective in the relationship between companies in the automotive supply chain. Through an exploratory qualitative study using the critical incident technique, we seek to contribute to the literature by filling the existing gap regarding further studies on the Leagile perspective applied to the context of the interfirm relationship. This approach is still under-explored, both in the literature on supply chain management and in good business practices. Although the Lean and Agile philosophies have been widely studied for many decades, this has occurred in isolation and applied exclusively to the context of manufacture. The application of these combined perspectives in the context of supply chain relationships is still recent and little discussed. As it is a recent topic, from the perspective of a new application, the study requires an in - depth exploratory research, in the search for the understanding of the elements to be identified and their influences. The work identified aspects of the SCM relationship, relationship antecedents, and Lean and Agile perspectives of each SCM member with their connections and divergences. Decoupling points were identified, and a displacement proposal was presented to provide gain of channel flexibility. An analysis and decision scheme have been proposed to direct managerial work in organizations that wish to implement integrated strategies such as Leagile.
