Resumo: The aim of this research is to present the perspectives of the traditional marriage institution of the Fulani ethnic group of Guinea-Bissau, as one of the most important traditional practices of this people. As one of the most important traditional practices of the Fulani people, when people get married, both the man and the woman are given the status of responsibility. The research is based on understanding how the process of this traditional practice works, through interviews with young people, since marriage has different meanings for people of different age groups. The Fulani’s nomadic people because they are cattle breeders and move around looking for suitable places for their herding activities, so these changes have given rise to subgroups. Therefore, they have managed to maintain their language and their way of performing traditional religious marriage ceremonies.

Therefore, they have managed to maintain their language and their way of performing traditional religious marriage ceremonies.L'objectif de cette étude est de présenter la célébration du mariage traditionnel du groupe ethnique des Peuls de Guinée-Bissau, qui est l'une des pratiques traditionnelles les plus importantes de ce peuple conservateur. Considéré comme le niveau le plus élevé des rituels existants dans la société peule, lorsque la personne se marie, elle se voit attribuer le statut de responsabilité, aussi bien pour l'homme que pour la femme. Notre recherche est basée sur la compréhension du processus de cette pratique traditionnelle par l’entretien avec des jeunes, car le mariage a une signification différente selon les tranches d’âge. Les Peuls sont un peuple nomade car ils sont éleveurs de bétail et par conséquent ils se déplacent à la recherche des prairies et des points d’eau pour leurs activités de pâturage. Cette migration n’est pas sans conséquence sur le plan démographique. Elle a entrainé la dislocation de la communauté en sous-groupes où certains se mélangent avec d'autres peuples ou groupes éthniques. Cependant, les Peuls ont réussi à conserver leur langue et la façon de célébrer les cérémonies de mariage traditionnelles avec des ouvertures notoires sur le plan religieux.O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar as perspectivas da instituição do casamento tradicional da etnia Fula da Guiné-Bissau como uma das práticas tradicionais mais importantes deste povo. Desta forma, sendo alto nível mais dos rituais existentes no seio desse povo, quando as pessoas casam, são atribuídos o status de responsabilidade tanto para o homem como para a mulher. A pesquisa se baseia em compreender como funciona o processo desta prática tradicional através de entrevistas aos jovens, uma vez que o casamento tem significado diferente para as pessoas de diferentes faixas etárias. Os Fulas são povos nômades por serem criadores de gado e se movem à procura de lugares adequados para as suas atividades de pastoreios, de maneira que, essas mudanças deram origem a subgrupos.
