Resumo: | The objective of this study is to show that the immense amount of public funds transferred to the private sector, through the Federal Government's FIES - Higher Education Student Financing Fund, without any type of control, with no requirement for quality training and without a demand for an adequate social return, which only generated abusive profits for education investment groups. These resources could be applied in investments for public Higher Education Institutions in Brazil, which have a higher quality of alumni, especially when compared to most Higher Education Institutions in the private area, with a greater number of vacancies, better working conditions and better training of education professionals. As a result, we will have a higher quality of education in the country. The research consisted of collecting data empirically collected from primary sources, in articles and books that discussed the object and its related characteristics. All aspects relating to the object of the thesis, political, educational and statistical, were also researched and considered. References in the field of education, sociology, history and pedagogy were also extremely important for the analysis of our object. |

References in the field of education, sociology, history and pedagogy were also extremely important for the analysis of our object.O objetivo deste estudo é mostrar que a imensa quantidade de verbas públicas repassadas para a iniciativa privada, por meio do FIES – Fundo de Financiamento ao Estudante do Ensino Superior, do governo federal, sem qualquer tipo de controle, sem exigência de qualidade de formação e sem uma exigência de retorno social adequado, que apenas gerou lucros abusivos a grupos de investimentos em educação. Esses recursos poderiam ser aplicados em investimentos para as Instituições de Educação Superior públicas no Brasil, que têm uma qualidade de egressos superior, principalmente se comparada à maioria das Instituições de Ensino Superior da área privada, em maior número de vagas, melhores condições de trabalho e melhor capacitação dos profissionais de educação. Como consequência teremos uma maior qualidade de educação no país. A pesquisa constou de levantamento de dados colhidos de maneira empírica nas fontes primárias, em artigos e livros que discorriam sobre o objeto e suas características afins. Também foram pesquisados e considerados todos os aspectos relativos ao objeto da tese, políticos, educacionais e estatísticos.
