Much is being discussed around reforms that make worker protection more flexible, since, while reducing the immediate costs of companies with their employees, which would allow for greater investment and hiring, they also reduce workers' income, reducing consumption, which would generate an economic downturn, annulling the first benefits granted to companies. The debate, therefore, boils down to whether the possible benefits granted to companies with this greater flexibility compensate for the reduction in income and/or the precariousness of work. This research seeks to contribute to the debate in question by analyzing the public data of CNPJs made available by the Federal Revenue, verifying whether after the Brazilian Labor Reform of 2017 (RTB) there were changes in the volumes of creation, mortality and development of companies in the country. The results showed that after the RTB there was a greater development of companies, with significant increases in the volume of Individual Microentrepreneurs that became Microenterprises. It was not possible to verify positive or negative effects of RTB on the creation and survival of companies.
