In a highly competitive environment, such as the financial market, companies are increasingly being challenged to improve the way they manage their projects. This is crucial for achieving efficiency by reducing costs, meeting established deadlines, enhancing the quality of deliveries, ensuring effective communication, and maintaining robust management. All these practices are essential for gaining a competitive advantage over other companies operating in the same sector. In this challenging context, agile approaches are becoming increasingly popular in companies, which stand out by adopting a simplified yet effective methodology that is easily adaptable to changes. This results in significant improvements throughout the development process. Additionally, these agile practices yield positive results, including reduced project execution times and increased productivity. The application of agile approaches in project management raises questions about their effectiveness in the context of financial entities. Therefore, analyzing the pre-existing project management structure in a financial institution, when subjected to the implementation of agile practices, combined with monitoring the progression of project efficiency over time, reveals the cultural transformation of the organization, which constitutes the core of this study. Within this scope, the specific objectives include: discerning the influence of adopting agile approaches in project management on the organizational culture of the financial entity; evaluating the trajectory of project delivery productivity over time following the implementation of new management methodologies; identifying the primary obstacles to the establishment of agile approaches within the organization; and listing the most recommended practices for project management in a financial institution regarding the adoption of agile methodologies. This study is characterized as an exploratory research, as it seeks to gain an understanding of a topic with the aim of providing insights, ideas, and hypotheses for future research, and also as a descriptive research, as it aims to describe and characterize a situation and understand how the application of agile methodologies is processed within the organization. To achieve these objectives, the present study will be conducted through bibliographic research, with the bibliographic framework being obtained with the aid of bibliometric techniques applied to the Scopus database, and through a case study, in order to verify the applicability of agile methodologies in the organization, with the support of the target institution's project management panel for data collection. As a result, this study considered that the adoption of agile methods in the financial institution has provided a solid foundation for the development of future strategies, balancing flexibility with rigorous analysis and continuous learning. The choice between traditional and agile methodologies should be made carefully, according to the needs of each project, contributing to operational stability. This agile approach has not only improved operational results but also positively transformed the organizational culture, highlighting the institution for its adaptability and innovation, preparing it to face future challenges and continue evolving.
