This paper presents an analysis of the aging process of individuals with Down Syndrome (DS), with the focus on research of possible social exclusion factors in the transition between the adult and senile stages, trying to identify what prejudices they face every day, how they are seen by society, stereotypes assigned to them and how they are regarded by the world around them, always under the family point of view. Since it s a new issue, whereas before people with this syndrome could not experience this stage of life, the subject demanded deepening and assessments. Still, the challenges and pitfalls that the families of these people live constantly on the search for your quality of life, due to the lack effective public measures and further clarification on the aging of people with DS. Thus, the research aims to connect these concepts in the search for a new vision of the place of these people in society, as there is a better understanding of their experiences, needs, desires, expectations, limitations and capabilities.
