Resumo: Discussions about work, retirement and planning for post-work life are associated with the aging process, a segment that currently symbolizes an expressive contingent of the Brazilian population. The aim of this study was to investigate the understanding of the employees of the Federal Institute of Education of Tocantins about work and retirement, as well as factors associated with the construction of a post-work life project, having as main contribution to verify which themes could be elaborate in a Retirement Preparation Program according to the perspective of the respondents. This was an exploratory, quantitative, cross-sectional study. We interviewed 94 employees among administrative technicians and faculty members of the effective and active staff of the Federal Institute of Tocantins, who were 5, 10 and 15 years old to retire. The evaluation instruments were: sociodemographic questionnaire; QWLQ-bref assessment questionnaire of Quality of Life at Work (QWL); and Scale of Key Planning Factors for Retirement (KFRP). There was a higher score in the psychological domain of QVT, followed by the personal, physical and psychological domain. Regarding the key factors for retirement planning, participants attributed greater importance to the risk or survival domains, followed by family relationships, personal and social wellbeing and a new professional beginning. There were also statistically significant and positive correlations between the psychological subdomain of QOL and the Risk or Survival Factor, and between the professional domain of QOL and the Family Relationships Factor. That is, the greater the relevance of the quality of life domains mentioned, the greater the relevance of the key factors for retirement planning. The group of professionals with five to ten years to retire had the highest average in the psychological domain of QOL (p=0.039). Comparisons according to gender indicated that women focused more on the New Professional Beginning than men (p=0.023). Participants without a partner had lower scores in the item family relationships as a post-retirement planning factor (p=0.027). There was no association between age group, income, type of career (teacher and technical), work-related quality of life and key factors for retirement planning. Regarding the participants' suggestions on topics to be addressed in a Retirement Planning Program (PPA), the most relevant categories were: financial planning (13%), specific legislation on retirement (11%), entertainment and quality of life with paid occupational activities after retirement (7%), entrepreneurship and psychological support with (6%), health promotion, and life projects for better age (4%) , volunteering (2%) and PPA aimed at disabled server (1%). It was concluded that retirement planning seems to be influenced by work-related quality of life and by variables such as gender and marital status. The study allowed exploring retirement planning, providing contributions for the organization to develop the planning of actions in a PPA, according to the themes suggested by the investigated servers.

O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a compreensão dos servidores do Instituto Federal de Educação do Tocantins sobre trabalho e aposentadoria, bem como de fatores associados à construção de projeto de vida pós-trabalho, tendo como principal contribuição verificar quais temas poderiam ser elaborados em um Programa de Preparação para a Aposentadoria de acordo com a perpectiva dos pesquisados.Tratou-se de um estudo exploratório, de natureza quantitativa, e de corte transversal. Foram entrevistados 94 servidores dentre técnicos administrativos e docentes do quadro efetivo e ativo do Instituto Federal do Tocantins, que estavam com 5, 10 e 15 anos de se aposentarem. Os instrumentos avaliativos foram: questionário sociodemográfico; questionário de avaliação QWLQ-bref da Qualidade de Vida no Trabalho (QVT); e Escala dos Fatores- Chave de Planejamento para a Aposentadoria (KFRP). Houve maior pontuação no domínio psicológico de QVT, seguido do domínio pessoal, físico e psicológico. No que se refere aos fatores-chave para o planejamento da aposentadoria, os participantes atribuíram maior importância aos domínios risco ou sobrevivência, seguido por relacionamentos familiares, bem-estar pessoal e social e novo começo profissional. Houve, ainda, correlações estatisticamente significantes e positivas entre o subdomínio psicológico de QVT e o Fator Risco ou Sobrevivência, e entre o domínio profissional de QVT e o Fator Relacionamentos Familiares. Ou seja, quanto maior a relevância dos domínios de qualidade de vida citados, maior a relevância dos fatoreschave para o planejamento da aposentadoria. O grupo de profissionais com cinco até dez anos para se aposentar apresentou a maior média no domínio psicológico de QVT (p=0,039). Comparações segundo o sexo indicaram que as mulheres focalizaram mais o Novo começo profissional do que os homens (p=0,023). Participantes sem companheiro(a) apresentaram menor pontuação no item relacionamentos familiar como fator de planejamento pós-aposentadoria (p=0,027). Não houve associação entre faixa-etária, renda, tipo de carreira (docente e técnico), qualidade de vida relacionada ao trabalho e os fatores-chave para planejamento da aposentadoria. No que se refere às sugestões dos participantes quanto a temas a serem tratados em um Programa de Planejamento para Aposentadoria (PPA), as categorias de maior relevância foram: planejamento financeiro (13%), legislação especifica sobre aposentadoria (11%), entretenimento e qualidade de vida com atividades ocupacionais remuneradas após aposentadoria (7%), empreendedorismo e apoio psicológico com (6%), promoção da saúde, e projetos de vida para melhor idade (4%), voluntariado (2%) e PPA voltado para servidor com deficiência (1%). Concluiu-se que o planejamento para aposentadoria parece ser influenciado pela qualidade de vida relacionada ao trabalho e por variáveis como sexo e estado conjugal.
