Resumo: The Constitutional Financing Fund for the North is a public policy that aims to promote regional development in the North, seeking to reduce the socioeconomic differences in this region in relation to the center-south of Brazil. In this context, according to the National Plan for Regional Development, the equitable development of the micro-regions that comprise it must also be prioritized. Thus, the objective of this dissertation is to verify if there is a relationship between FNO and intraregional inequalities, investigating whether the policy was effective in reducing income disparities between municipalities that are part of the same immediate region (microregion). Using the fixed effects estimator, it was observed that there is an inverse relationship between FNO investment and the increase in intraregional inequality, such that 1% increases in the supply of funds would lead to a reduction of intraregional inequality by 0. 0036.

Nesse contexto, segundo o Plano Nacional de Desenvolvimento Regional, devem ser priorizados também o desenvolvimento equânime das microrregiões que a compõe. Desta forma o objetivo dessa dissertação é verificar se há relação entre o FNO e as desigualdades intrarregionais investigando se a política foi eficaz na redução das disparidades de renda entre municípios que fazem parte de uma mesma região imediata (microrregião).
