Since its emergence in the 1960s, the consortium sector has become accustomed to facing and overcoming moments of crisis, demonstrating remarkable resilience throughout its history. However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought forth a unique challenge that the sector had never encountered before—something that, unlike the usual economic and political crises, stood out in an unprecedented, profound, and disruptive manner: the lockdown. The scenario presented to society revealed uncertainty about the future, leading to a reassessment of medium- and long-term costs and expenses. It would be expected that the sector’s growth projections would be impacted in some way, especially given such an unfavorable context. However, it is observed that the sector not only maintained its growth projections but also surpassed previous records in certain segments. Even the traditional customer service and in-person sales models, deeply rooted in the sector’s business structure, were substantially affected by the restrictions imposed by the need for social isolation. Yet, the sector did not seem to experience any significant im-pact. Given this phenomenon, the present research aims to delve deeper into the study, seeking possible variables and reasons that explain this growth across different companies and seg-ments.
