Resumo: Among phytonematodes, the genus Meloidogyne represents one of the most serious problems for world agriculture. The Meloidogyne incognita species stands out for causing extensive reduction in productivity and quality of agricultural products, generating economic losses of millions of dollars annually. The control of this phytoparasite occurs mainly by synthetic nematicides, which are problematic for human and animal health and also for the environment. Therefore, the search for control alternatives with sustainable technologies is favorable. Macrofungi substrates can represent a very rich source of biological actives with a biocidal effect. Thus, the objective of the present work was to evaluate the effect of extract generated from the macrofungus (Ganoderma lucidum mushroom) on the control of the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. Through the cultivation of the fungus by the JunCao technique, an aqueous extract was generated and its effects were evaluated in viability and recovery bioassays with nematodes, confirming the extract's nematostatic and nematicidal activity. This activity was maintained when the material was subjected to a higher temperature, confirming the material's thermostability with viability and recovery bioassays. The material was further evaluated for its cellular toxicity, phytotoxicity and activity against non-target organisms. These results demonstrate the promising ability of using fungi and their metabolites in sustainable pest control.

A espécie Meloidogyne incognita se destaca por causar extensa redução da produtividade e da qualidade dos produtos agrícolas, gerando perdas econômicas de milhões de dólares anualmente. O controle deste fitoparasita ocorre principalmente por nematicidas sintéticos, os quais são problemáticos para à saúde humana, animal e para o meio ambiente. Portanto, a busca por alternativas de controle com tecnologias sustentáveis é favorável. Substratos de macrofungos podem representar uma fonte bastante rica de ativos biológicos com efeito biocida. Assim, o objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de extrato gerado a partir do macrofungo (cogumelo Ganoderma lucidum) no controle do nematoide das galhas, Meloidogyne incognita. Por meio do cultivo do fungo pela técnica JunCao, foi gerado um extrato aquoso e seus efeitos foram avaliados em bioensaios de nematotoxicidade (viabilidade e de recuperação) com nematoides, confirmando atividade nematostática e nematicida do extrato. Esta atividade se manteve quando o material foi submetido a temperatura mais elevada, confirmando termoestabilidade do material com bioensaios de nematotoxicidade. O material foi ainda avaliado quanto a sua toxicidade celular, fitotoxicidade e atividade contra organismos não-alvo.
