The DevOps methodology is a paradigm aiming to approximate the software development (Dev) and software operation (Ops) areas, residing to Information Technology (IT). Cultural gap enforces software development and software operation teams a distant relationship, diverging in relation to direction and perspective. Through cultural factors, there is a latent incentive to increase interaction between software development and operation teams, in order to reduce complexity and barriers during the process of building and delivering solutions. The goal of this research project was to evaluate the cultural factors that could promote and make possible the implementation of DevOps. The evaluation was performed through cultural analysis in IT companies starting this process. Cultural factors and values related to DevOps were identified. Later, the types of organizational culture were evaluated through the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) proposed by Cameron and Quinn (2011) in the competing values model. Three private companies in the IT field were evaluated in this research, in order to identify the predominance of types of organizational culture.
