This dissertation represents an innovative study in the field of police sciences, applying data mining and econometrics to decipher the determinants of disciplinary transgressions and military crimes among police officers. Investigating data from the Department of Control and Corrections and the Personnel Management Department from 2017 to 2022, a robust quantitative methodology is employed, including linear regression and fixed effect models, to address the central question: "What are the patterns and individual characteristics of police officers that are associated with a higher propensity to commit disciplinary infractions and military crimes?". The findings reveal vulnerability profiles, highlighting factors such as length of service and police demographics, and pave the way for the implementation of more effective public policies for preventing misconduct. The insights from this study provide an exploratory foundation for preventive policies, pointing towards the integration of additional databases as a promising avenue for a better understanding and prevention of inappropriate behaviors and absenteeism in the police sector. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating various databases for a holistic comprehension and effective prevention within the realm of public security, underscoring the need for customized preventive measures and data-informed governance strategies.
