Organizations invest in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for operational and strategic benefits. However, the failure rate in implementing such systems is high. Several causes, such as the choice of the system or the time used in training, may contribute to the reported failure of the investment made. Especially when it comes to systems deployed for the management of information in the manufacturing sector. It is assumed that this occurs because of the heterogeneity of data generated in the production of goods in complex productive chains. In view of these assertions, this study aims to investigate said complexity of data and information generated in the production process. Punctually, it intends to identify the main causes of problems encountered when implementing the manufacturing module of an ERP, considering the Continuous Production Process in a company in the paper industry. Therefore, it is envisaged to use the methodological procedures adherent to qualitative-descriptive research. In this sense, the research is characterized as a case study, being operationalized by interviews with the collaborators of the research organization and the analysis of documents resulting from the implementation failure, answering the research question: How to avoid nonconformities in the implementation of a Integrated Management System (ERP) to control the production process (Manufacturing Module) in a paper industry? As a result of the work, it was detected that to avoid nonconformities, it is necessary to: develop a training schedule for the members involved, which must occur both in the pre- and post-implementation period; promote the constant exchange of information among all participants in the process; involve all areas that will be affected in any way; dedicate a minimum time for data collection; provide a prior technological infrastructure compatible with the new system; and, choose carefully the type of ERP to be implemented.
