Resumo: The Faxinal System is a natural silvopastoral system that occurs in southern Brazil, in the Araucaria Forest in Paraná state. The herbaceous community of the understory forestry was identified and analyzed using Botanal method in two different areas where permanent plots of 1000 m? were installed. Ecological factors of soil, light and tree component were investigated. The variables of the two study areas were compared by mean comparison test. 25 species were identified within the two permanent plots in understory according to APG III. About the results, it was concluded that there are significant differences in photosynthetically active radiation between the two plots due to distinctions in average leaf angle. Multivariate analysis was correlated with dry matter production with environmental variables, which expressed greater influence on species distribution of the percentage of bare ground, the light extinction coefficient and leaf area index with the highest self-vectors along the three axes of ordination of the multivariate analysis. The results contribute to the knowledge, and the structuring of future studies and development of a more appropriate management for conservation and growth Faxinal and silvopastoral systems.

The results contribute to the knowledge, and the structuring of future studies and development of a more appropriate management for conservation and growth Faxinal and silvopastoral systems.Um sistema silvipastoril natural se caracteriza pela presença de espécies nativas no componente arbóreo e espécies forrageiras nativas e naturalizadas, aliada a essa característica, o uso comum do solo para produção pecuária de diversas espécies animais é identificado como sistema Faxinal. Esse sistema ocorre somente no estado do Paraná, sob a Floresta Ombrófila Mista. Buscou-se identificar as espécies componentes da comunidade herbácea do sub bosque e as suas correlações com as variáveis ambientais: solo, luz e componente arbóreo. As amostragens foram realizadas dentro de duas áreas sob sistema Faxinal denominadas Marmeleiro de Cima e Marmeleiro de Baixo onde estão instaladas parcelas permanentes de 1000 m?, divididas em 100 sub parcelas iguais de 10 m?, das quais 16 sub parcelas foram selecionadas de maneira sistemática. Foi realizada a identificação das espécies, sua participação na produção de matéria seca e a área de solo descoberto pela aplicação do método Botanal. Dentro das mesmas parcelas foram obtidos dados químicos e físicos do solo, dados relativos ás condições de luminosidade do sub bosque e do valor de cobertura florestal representando as variáveis ambientais. As variáveis ambientais e a produção de matéria seca de cada espécie foram comparadas entre as duas áreas utilizando-se o teste-T, e correlacionadas utilizando análise multivariada aplicando a técnica de Correspondência Canônica. Foi utilizada a técnica de Regressão Logística Binária para a espécie Ichnanthus pallens. Foram identificadas 25 espécies dentro da comunidade herbácea. A espécie Axonopus compressus teve maior contribuição na produção de matéria seca. A área de solo descoberto, o coeficiente de extinção luminoso e o índice de área foliar do dossel florestal mostraram maior influência sobre a comunidade herbácea. A presença de animais domésticos sob a floresta apresenta-se como um distúrbio negativo uma vez que a produção de forragem é insuficiente para a manutenção dos animais domésticos.Made available in DSpace on 2016-09-20T12:12:45Z (GMT).
