Resumo: The essay that follows, aims to retake the reception's trajectory of the criticism in the novel '?pera dos Mortos', written by a Brazilian author Autran Dourado from Minas Gerais in south Brazil, in the first years of his publications, in 1967. Edited in a convulse and fertile time of the recently history, '?pera dos Mortos' is a meaningful realization of its author and a representation of the literary work about the Brazilian literature of that time. The research develops based on the references of Literary Supplement of "Suplemento Liter?rio do Minas Gerais"* - SLMG, through the analysis it emphasizes the criticism of the author and the novel in that supplement, and falls within the theoretical perspective of the aesthetics of reception studies.
