This study was conceived from an ori-entation that, sought to comprehend the daily strategies of survival of homeless women living in Baixa dos Sapateiros Street, Salvador-BA. It aimed at encouraging and advancing the debate on such dimensions, along with the interlocutors and the health and social assistance support network that works with this group of women. I correlated Brazilian socio-historical construction and the homeless people phenomenon, reflecting upon what Saffioti (2013) named the "knot", established among three great contradictions - racism, gender and social class. These contradictions are hence analyzed taking into consideration their articulations in the construction of the territory and its derivatives - territoriality and deterritorialization. The territory covered by this study is the street, which is capable of providing the basis for territorialities as a historical process of reciprocal and continuous co-adaptation between human society and material environment, in what Saquet (2013) called active territoriality. The strength of this study is its bibliography, which corresponded to the expectations, as it was possible to elaborate an orderly set of procedures in order to seek solutions from the theoretical repertoire revised, attentive to the study proposal. I understand that, in its entirety, the research did not meet the criteria initially proposed because, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the workshops initially postponed, ended up not being carried out. Self-ethnography emerges as a light in the path of uncertainty that has become the final stages of this study, paraphrasing bell Hooks (2019), even in the worst circumstances it is possible to exercise agency. I think of self-ethnography as a mirror, through which I see my struggle companions and interlocutors of this study, from where I build a platform to describe my experiences as a Black woman and researcher in Baixa dos Sapateiros Street. This study is an important contribution to understanding the dynamics of field research, with a complex and intense population like the PSR (homeless population).
