Through the current and constant transformation of the world, the marketplace is becoming increasingly selective and competitive. Companies are looking for creative professionals with cognitive skills adapted to the current reality, that is, creative people who work collectively and who have easy perception to solve complex problems. The school environment continues to be the most favorable space for the development and qualification of people for the marketplace and for the future. Related research points out that the teaching of computational thinking can be a way to provide these skills in young people within the school environment. However, research related to the identification of the effects of teaching computation the development of 21st century skills is still scarce. In Brazil, this number is even lower, especially when it comes to research that addresses the development of validated instruments for these assessments. In addition, most of the existing studies adopt instruments that have not been subjected to a systematic validation process, that is, according to the context in which the studies are being applied. Through this gap, this work developed, applied and validated a 21st century skills assessment instrument through Computational suited to the reality of middle school and in the Portuguese language. The instrument’s validation and reliability test was carried out with the participation of 580 middle school students from three municipalities located in the countryside of the state of Bahia.
