Resumo: The main objective of this work is to reflect on the school`s contributions to redefining the life trajectory of Youth and Adult Education students in relation to their social and labor insertion. Discusses EJA, bringing to light challenges for the insertion of young people in the world of work, such as the precariousness of rights and working conditions, discussing their occupational trajectories and future perspectives. This qualitative research, analyze the lives of 18 young people through conversation circles and 6 young people (3 men and 3 women) with semi-structured interviews, in a school located between the urban and rural limits of the city of Feira de Santana, Bahia. The results indicate that, in agreement with national research, when young people enter the world of work early, they find precarious conditions both to perform their functions and in terms of employment and remuneration. Problems related to difficulty in accessing rights, such as quality transportation, health, safety and education, interfere with their professional and personal choices. They also point out that they do not intend to continue working in their current work activities. The prospects for the future are vague, given that there are few opportunities presented and when they are, on many occasions, socioeconomic conditions do not allow them to continue. The main motivation for returning to studies refers to the desire to improve living conditions and, among the research subjects, regret at having abandoned or not taking advantage of the opportunity to dedicate themselves to studies when they were younger was recurrent and unanimous.

Discute a EJA, trazendo ? tona desafios para inser??o de jovens no mundo do trabalho, tais como a precariza??o de direitos e das condi??es laborais, discutindo suas trajet?rias ocupacionais e perspectivas de futuro. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, que analisa inicialmente recortes de vida de 18 jovens por meio de rodas de conversa e de 6 jovens (3 homens e 3 mulheres) com entrevistas semiestruturadas, em uma escola que fica localizada na fronteira rural e urbana no munic?pio de Feira de Santana, Bahia. Os resultados apontam que, concordando com as pesquisas nacionais, os jovens quando inseridos precocemente no mundo do trabalho, encontram condi??es prec?rias tanto para exercer suas fun??es, quanto em termos de v?nculo e remunera??o. Problemas relacionados a dificuldade de acesso a direitos, tais como transporte de qualidade, sa?de, seguran?a e educa??o, interferem nas suas escolhas profissionais e pessoais. Apontam ainda que n?o pretendem continuar atuando em suas atividades laborais atuais. As perspectivas de futuro s?o vagas, haja vista que s?o poucas as oportunidades apresentadas e quando o s?o, em muitas ocasi?es, as condi??es socioecon?micas n?o permitem que sigam.
