This paper presents the results of research on the Natural Science subject that is covered in the teaching materials Projovem Urban. Such writing was produced in order to raise and broaden the discussion on curriculum, public science education and policies for Youth, in addition to analyzing specifically what it is and how it is proposed themes/ content to teach young people living in vulnerable conditions. The research aimed to: analyze the discourse on the nature of science and its relationship to citizenship inserted into the courseware Projovem Urban. The analytical document was courseware urban Projovem consisting of six study guides (textbooks) and a manual for the broad guidelines of the program. Data analysis allowed us to observe the political and cultural aspect that presents the teaching material while broadcasting tool and representation of certain values. From these results, we believe that the program is seen as an incentive for an innovative curriculum proposal that contributes to civic education of young people who were excluded from own and unique rights of a citizen , and that they can be alert to the social problems that surrounds daily , seeing this way the role of science linked to the interests and participation.
