Resumo: The subject of this work is the study of the names of plants mentioned in literary works under the prism of terminology. The chosen author was Jorge Amado, an author with a significant critical fortune. The names of plants used in common language reflect specialized knowledge, whether of academic or popular origin. This specialized knowledge is used by the writer to build his work of art, allowing the researcher in the field of Terminology to approach it. The desired product is a phytonymic vocabulary from a significant part of Jorge Amado's work, correlating the vernacular names with the scientific names, corroborated with endorsements, making it available on the internet; thid work is aimed at botanists concerned with the meaning of science on the general population, represented in literary works, as well as those interested in plants and their cultural protagonism. In theoretical terms, this study is based on the Communicative Theory of Terminology, mainly from the approach of Ethnoterminology and aspects of Ecolexicology. The botanical part is anchored in the international code of botanical nomenclature; the classification system follows that presented in Angiosperm Phylogeny website. The study of the phytonymic lexicon was carried out with computational linguistics tools, through the construction of a database using FLEx . The construction of the entry follows the guidelines presented in Assun??o (1979). The plant names mentioned were identified from dictionaries, as well as specific works from the area of Botany were used. Jorge Amado's works selected were: Suor b) Capit?es da Areia; c) The Knight of Hope; d) Lands of the Endless; e) Gabriela, Cravo and Canela; Dona Flor and her two husbands), based on the classification proposed by Bosi (2006[1970]. 1505 phytonym recommendations were recorded in the analyzed texts, grouped into 214 different phytonyms. The most cited phytonym was "cacau" with 387 recommendations, corresponding to 17% of the total registered phytonyms. It is followed by "Tabocas" with 106 requests (c. 7%), "Caf?" with 77 (c. 5%), "Rosa" with 58 (c. 4%), " Cacaueiro" (2) with 47 (c. 3%), "Magn?lia" with 30 (c. 2%), "Bara?na" with 25 (c. 2%) and "Milho" with 24 (c. 1%). These phytonyms require more than 50% of the total requests, such results can be viewed at https://botanicaliteraria.wixsite.com/planta .

These phytonyms require more than 50% of the total requests, such results can be viewed at https://botanicaliteraria.wixsite.com/planta .O tema desta tese ? o estudo dos nomes de plantas citados em obras liter?rias sob o prisma da terminologia.
