Resumo: Brazil has a diverse fauna escorpiônica being some species can cause health damage when in contact with the man, causing what we denominate like scorpionismo. Many researches point to the accumulation of solid waste in real estate as the main factor responsible for the occurrence and proliferation of scorpions in cities and consequently of scorpionism. The epidemiological analysis of this aggravation in the country from 2000 to 2015 has shown an increase in the number of cases reported, with the states with the highest reported number of cases being Pará, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Goiás. Rural, leading us to consider the overlapping of the anthropization of natural areas under the habitat of these animals. The municipality of Água Limpa, Goiás, Brazil, has a high incidence of scorpions of the species Tityus serrulatus, which is the most important sanitary medical in the country. The municipality does not have data of historical value on the problem, being that only from 2012 the cases of scorpionismo began to be monitored. Epidemiological analysis has shown that the majority of victims are male. The activity developed at the time of the scorpion accident is difficult to understand to draw a profile, since most of the records do not include the activity performed at the moment of the accident. The majority of cases occurred with a bite on the upper limb and in an urban area. All cases reported in the study period were classified as mild and evolved to cure. To understand the factors that influence the occurrence of scorpions in Água Limpa, the numbers of animals found in 2014 and 2015 were related to climatic and abiotic factors, showing a positive relation with only two factors, being they the relatively high slope and the drainage of one Stream near the urban area of the municipality. Due to the scarcity of studies investigating the relationship between the occurrence of scorpions and abiotic factors, it is still difficult to determine the cause of this relationship, and the answer may be in the heterogeneity of the urban environment, and new studies are necessary to know the different microclimates and how they influence the Occurrence and abundance of scorpions in urban areas.

Submitted by Sandra Barbosa (sandrabarbosa632@gmail.com) on 2021-04-20T19:28:38Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertacao_Welida.pdf: 2198660 bytes, checksum: a219406d788184129fe543c5b7ba724c (MD5) license.txt: 2109 bytes, checksum: b76a28645f58b21aeda00ac459312a65 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Sandra Barbosa (sandrabarbosa632@gmail.com) on 2021-04-22T12:43:48Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertacao_Welida.pdf: 2198660 bytes, checksum: a219406d788184129fe543c5b7ba724c (MD5) license.txt: 2109 bytes, checksum: b76a28645f58b21aeda00ac459312a65 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-04-22T12:43:48Z (GMT).
