A justificativa deste trabalho se fundamenta no fato de que a ciência, como construção do conhecimento, é permeada pelos aspectos sociais, culturais, econômicos, políticos da sociedade em que está inserida, reproduzindo as desigualdades de gênero, bem como normas e valores tradicionalistas misóginos, sexistas e patriarcais. Utilizou-se o método progressivo-regressivo proposto por Jean Paul Sartre para resgatar a trajetória acadêmica das seis entrevistadas, a fim de compreender os movimentos realizados pelas participantes durante suas vidas, investigando as condições socio materiais presentes nesse percurso e como elas significaram e agiram para superá-las durante o percurso de formação acadêmica, sendo mulheres e mães. Foi utilizado o método "bola de neve" para selecionar as participantes, sendo que as entrevistas tiveram caráter sem dirigido, partindo de uma pergunta disparadora e com algumas perguntas direcionadas, possibilitando que cada entrevistada conduzisse e relatasse aquilo que julgasse relevante. Posteriormente, as entrevistas foram transcritas e os respectivos conteúdos, tanto as experiências singulares quanto às similaridades que as unificam, foram analisados compreensivamente à luz da teoria do Existencialismo de Sartre e Simone de Beauvoir em diálogo com o Feminismo Interseccional. Os resultados revelam a sobrecarga vivenciada por mulheres que são mães e pós-graduandas na tentativa de conciliar as múltiplas tarefas, bem como a ausência de políticas públicas e institucionais que incentivem e auxiliem suas permanências no ambiente acadêmico. Conclui-se que apesar da emancipação feminina ter contribuído para a inserção das mulheres no mercado de trabalho e ingresso na universidade não lhes garantiu a supressão da divisão sexual do trabalho, isto é, a democratização do trabalho de cuidado e afazeres domésticosABSTRACT: The present research aims to understand the meanings of the experience of being a woman, mother, and researcher enrolled in a stricto sensu graduate program at a public university. The justification for this study is based on the fact that science, as a construction of knowledge, is influenced by the social, cultural, economic, and political aspects of the society in which it is embedded. It reproduces gender inequalities as well as traditionalist, misogynistic, sexist, and patriarchal norms and values. For this purpose, the progressive-regressive method proposed by Jean-Paul Sartre was used to reconstruct the academic trajectories of the six women. The aim was to understand the movements made by the participants throughout their lives, investigating the sociomaterial conditions present in this journey and how they interpreted and acted to overcome these conditions during their academic training while being women and mothers. The snowball sampling method was used to recruit the participants, and the interviews were semi-structured. They began with a trigger question and included some guided questions, allowing each woman to steer the conversation and share what they considered relevant. Subsequently, the interviews were transcribed, and their contents, both the unique experiences and the similarities that unify them, were comprehensively analyzed in light of Sartre's Existentialism and Simone de Beauvoir's theories, in dialogue with Intersectional Feminism. The results reveal the burden experienced by women who are mothers and graduate students as they attempt to balance multiple responsibilities, as well as the lack of public and institutional policies that support and encourage their continued presence in academia.
